Facebook Software Engineer Josh Wiseman Joins The Social + Capital Partnership

Facebook Software Engineer Josh Wiseman, who has contributed to pretty much every aspect of the site — Timeline, chat, photos, videos, and more — has left the company for an engineer-in-residence position with The Social + Capital Partnership, according to AllThingsD.

Wiseman had been with Facebook since 2007, joining the company after graduating from Stanford’s computer science program. He also had internships with Apple and Pixar. He told AllThingsD that he is joining The Social + Capital Partnership in an engineer-in-residence role. His last day at Facebook was Friday.

Wiseman led engineering for Timeline last year, and he was also one of the leaders on Facebook’s chat feature. He discussed his future with AllThingsD:

I love Facebook and am still very excited about it. But I’ve sort of developed a desire to work on a more tangible social problem — like the health care industry — that I don’t think Facebook necessarily plans to tackle in the near term.
