It’s All Downhill For Liftopia Facebook App

The holiday shopping season may be in full swing, but skiing season is also underway, and online ski marketplace Liftopia launched a Facebook application allowing skiers and snowboarders to compare the mountains they have tackled.

The Where I’ve Skied Challenge also allows users to compile galleries of mountains they have visited, and Liftopia said more than 13,000 Facebook users have installed the app in a little more than one week.

The top five resorts visited by Where I’ve Skied Challenge users so far are:

  1. Vail (44 percent)
  2. Breckenridge (43 percent)
  3. Killington (40 percent)
  4. Copper (37 percent)
  5. Keystone (36 percent)

Liftopia said the average number of resorts visited is 29, but it expects that number to fall as more casual skiers join the “friends and family” who are using the app. The company added that skiers from 67 countries have installed the Where I’ve Skied Challenge app.
