Facebook Testing Lock-Screen Notifications With Some Of Its Android Beta-Testers

AndroidLockScreenNotification650Some members of the Facebook for Android Beta Testers program briefly received access to a feature in which notifications from the social network appeared on their devices’ lock screens.

Darrell Etherington of TechCrunch shared the screenshot above and reported that Facebook confirmed that it tested the feature with “a small group of beta-testers.”

According to Etherington, the feature did not require Android L, and while using an HTC One M8 running Android 4.4.2 with Sense 6, he saw a setting expander with viewing options. Tapping directly on the notification opened the Facebook application, he wrote, and swiping on it dismissed the notification and kept the phone locked.

Etherington added that multiple notifications were stacked on top of each other.
