WARNING: Facebook Accounts Are NOT Being Deactivated May 18

May18Scam650Here we go again: All Facebook accounts are not being deactivated May 18, and the profiles for Facebook Announcement 2K14 and FbCeo Mark Zuckerberg are fake, so ignore any posts in your News Feeds from these or similar accounts, or be subject to malware.

Malwarebytes reported on the latest scam to go viral on the social network, saying that victims are subject to auto-liking accounts and spammy posts, altered profiles, tagging random friends in spammy posts, and being prevented from unlinking or unfollowing spam accounts.

Malwarebytes pointed out that while “Do this before your account gets deactivated” scams are nothing new, this particular one appears to target users in the Philippines.

Readers: Have you seen any similar posts in your News Feeds?
