FacebookForWindowsPhone521Facebook’s Messenger application will finally make its Windows Phone debut, Microsoft Corporate Vice President and Manager for Windows Phone Program Management Joe Belfiore said this past weekend, prior to the 2014 GSMA Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain.

TechCrunch reported that while speaking at a Microsoft event for press and analysts prior to the conference, Belfiore said Messenger would launch for Windows Phone within “weeks,” adding:

We’ve been working with Facebook, testing out their implementation for a while. It’s looking good, and we will have it for our customers soon.

Facebook-owned photo- and video-sharing network Instagram finally launched a Windows Phone app last November, more than a year-and-a-half after the debut of its Android app in March 2012.
