Former Facebook Director of Engineering Mike Curtis booked a reservation through Airbnb to become the accommodations booking service’s new vice president of engineering.

AllThingsD reported that Curtis has been with Airbnb since last week, after having worked on the social network’s growth team since 2011.

Prior to Facebook, Curtis spent eight years at Yahoo, working on products including Yahoo Mail, according to AllThingsD.

Airbnb Chief Technology Officer Nate Blecharczyk told AllThingsD the company plans to add 50 engineers by year-end, adding:

We’re enabling offline experiences through online products. Changing people’s behavior is science and art, and it’s rare that there’s such a rich intersection.
