Non-Foursquare Facebook Users Can Now Be Added To Foursquare Check-Ins

Users of location-based mobile application Foursquare via Apple iOS (evices can now include their Facebook friends who are not Foursquare users in their check-ins.

Foursquare announced the update in a post on its blog, adding that a similar update for Android was close behind:

With Monday’s iOS update, you can now mention Facebook friends who aren’t on Foursquare in your check-ins. Just tap the add friend icon when you’re checking in and scroll down to find them. Your friends will get a notification on Facebook, and will be tagged in the Facebook post if you choose to share it there.

The Foursquare update is a win-win for both the app and the social network: Foursquare will likely be mentioned more on Facebook, possibly leading to more downloads, while Facebook will see additional check-ins.

Readers: Have you installed the Foursquare update for iOS yet, or are you anxiously awaiting the Android update?
