Tenthwave Pay-Per-Click Strategist Teddy Quinn shared the screen grab below with sister blog Inside Facebook, in which Quinn is not connected to the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival page, but is connected to the page for band Portugal. The Man, the subject of the post by Bonnaroo.
As Inside Facebook pointed out, the post is not a sponsored story, but it does encourage users (Quinn, in this case) to like the page (Bonnaroo).
This test marks the latest addition to an expanding list of methods the social network is testing to encourage likes, including:
- Providing similar page suggestions after users like pages via Facebook’s mobile applications.
- Suggesting “more pages you might like” on for users of the social network on desktops.
- Prompting users to like pages when links are shared.
