Facebook Fans: Click ‘Want It’ To Bring ‘Paranormal Activity 4′ To Your City

The newest installment of the Paranormal Activity horror movie series is coming to a city near you — all you have to do is want it. Using the want it feature on Paranormal Activity 4‘s Facebook page, users can vote to have their city be one of the 25 to earn advanced screenings for the film, which opens in October.

When users click the want it button (not the want button), they are taken to a screen that reads, “Bring Paranormal Activity 4 to (your city).” Users can then connect with Paranormal Activity through the want it application.

Matt Jacobson, head of market development at Facebook, talked in a press release about how Paranormal Activity is using Facebook to engage its fanbase:

There’s a very special connection between Paranormal Activity and Facebook. Four years after the initial success of the franchise and the establishment of a passionate fan community, we’re excited to see continued iteration on a franchise that was born on Facebook. Paramount is using both the Facebook platform and media to drive awareness of the film, three months out, and we will continue to drive awareness and intent at scale as we approach opening weekend in October.

With nearly 10,000 votes already in, here are the top 10 cities that want to be scared before the general release:

  1. Minneapolis
  2. Spring, Texas
  3. Winnetka, Ill.
  4. Baltimore
  5. San Bernadino, Calif.
  6. Brasilia, Brazil
  7. Indianapolis
  8. Houston
  9. Querétaro, Mexico
  10. Glendale, Ariz.
