Facebook Photo-Album Creator PastBook Launches IPhone App

PastBookiPhone650Photo-album creator PastBook announced the launch of its iPhone application, which allows users to create photo albums, called PastBooks, viewable online, via the app, as offline ebooks, or as printed books.

Users can add photos via Facebook or the camera rolls on their iPhones, and friends can be invited to contribute, as well.

Photos from other sources — Instagram, Flickr, Picasa, Google Drive, Dropbox, Gmail, SkyDrive, Evernote, Box, and others — can currently be added via the Web-version of PastBook, and the company said those sources will be integrated into upcoming versions of its app.

Other PastBook features include:

  • The ability to privately collect unlimited photos from friends via secret links or QR codes.
  • A synced mobile and Web experience, meaning that users can start on one device and continue on another.
  • Private and sharable albums with unique links.
  • Printed photo albums start at $19 for 24-page books and range up to $92 for 500 pages, with free global shipping.

PastBook CEO Stefano Cutello said in a release announcing the iPhone app:

We have been experimenting with different ways of approaching new users and exploring means for everyone to collect memories from photos shared or saved online. The success of the Web solution we launched in November validated this direction. The app we’re releasing today hooks directly into that unique proposition: To privately collect life’s moments on the go, from every perspective, connecting all the tools people are already using to save their own photos — to create a shared experience that can last forever, privately, online and offline.
