Facebook is continuing to test changes to pages and their analytics, this time focusing on increasing their people talking about this totals.

According to a source close to Facebook, PTAT numbers will be tweaked as follows:

We are going to begin counting viral shares of page posts into a page’s PTAT number. This means that if you post on your page and Jane reshares that post, any likes, comments, or shares resulting from Jane’s reshare will be counted into your page’s PTAT level. For this reason, you may notice that your page’s PTAT number increases. We are always looking for more ways to make page insights more robust.

Readers: Do you think this change in how the total number of people talking about this is calculated will be helpful, or will it just inflate the figures for all pages?
