Facebook Tests ‘Play Now’ Games Notifications

Facebook is testing notifications generated by the social network itself and aimed at driving users to engage with games.

Sister blog Inside Facebook reported that the notifications mention friends who are playing certain games, ending with, “Play now!”

These notifications join the “games you may like” box some users started seeing shortly after Facebook’s launch of its app center last week.

Facebook confirmed testing the notifications to Inside Facebook, saying:

We are testing this feature as part of ongoing tests to help people discover and re-engage with applications and games and drive meaningful traffic to developers.

Readers: Have you seen any of these notifications in your news feeds?
