Facebook Continues To Court Media Industry With Public Content Solutions Program

PublicContentSolutionsGraphic650Facebook took a giant step forward in its efforts to further align itself with the television, publishing, and event venue industries with Friday’s launch of its Public Content Solutions program, which is aimed at providing its partners with dedicated technical and business resources to build out media solutions on the social network and its Instagram photo- and video-sharing network.

Initial partners in Facebook’s PCS program are: Arktan, telescope, never.no, Timeline Labs, Tagboard, Vizrt, Reality Check, and SnappyTV, and the social network said in its Newsroom post introducing the initiative that it will expand with more application-programming interfaces, tools, and support resources for the media industry.

The launch of the PCS program follows other Facebook features and features being tested that are geared toward the media industry, such as:

With more than 1 billion people using Facebook and engaging in real-time conversations during these moments, it’s important for us to work closely with media companies to help them tell these stories.

Partners will receive a badge for display on their sites and marketing materials, dedicated technical support from the PCS team, access to Facebook’s media partnerships team, and more.
