Android Marketplace App Quickable Allows Sellers To Offer Special Prices To Facebook Friends

What makes mobile marketplace application Quickable stand out when compared with similar offerings? Two things: Its developers pursued an Android-first strategy, and users who are selling items via the platform can offer special prices to their Facebook friends.

Quickable is not ignoring Apple’s iOS, planning to release its application for that platform sometime during the first quarter of 2013. The Android app was released June 28 and downloaded more than 100,000 times in its first 45 days of availability.

Version 1.3.3, released Sept. 12, allows users to post items to the Quickable Marketplace, as well as to eBay, craigslist, Twitter, and Facebook.

Other features including secure messaging between buyers and sellers, location-based search for nearby items, and the ability to use mobile devices’ cameras to scan barcodes and photograph items.

And a special feature for Facebook users allows Quickable users who are selling items to offer their Facebook friends a special “friends only” price.

Readers: Would you check out Quickable as a possible alternative to or companion for traditional online marketplaces such as eBay?
