Facebook Testing Recent Articles Module, Showing Stories Users May Like

Facebook is testing a new feature — recent articles — showing users news stories based on subjects they’ve liked. For instance, if a user liked the page of a prominent actor, a review of his newest film might be suggested. This is Facebook’s latest attempt to push more news stories into users’ news feeds.

As first noticed by sister site Inside Facebook, some users are seeing a recent articles module pop up in their feed. It shows them popular and trending stories from topics they’ve liked, culled from around the Internet:

A Facebook spokesperson confirmed the test to Inside Facebook:

This unit is a test of a new kind of news feed story that makes it easier to find content that you might be interested in.
