REPORT: Facebook In Secret Talks With Secret

Secret650Anonymity is becoming more accepted at Facebook. The social network has defended its policy of requiring users to use their real names over the years, but Co-Founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg said in a January interview with Bloomberg Businessweek that real names will not be required to access the separate mobile applications the company plans to roll out. And now Re/code reports that the social network is in talks with social app Secret.

According to Re/code, Secret and Facebook have met to discuss how the two companies can work together, but neither company would confirm the talks. However, two sources familiar with Facebook’s plans denied reports that the social network offered $100 million to buy the app.

Secret is a mobile app that allows users to share their secrets anonymously, but according to Re/Code, it is in its infancy, with most of its buzz confined to Silicon Valley.
