Share Button Will Come To Facebook IOS, Android Apps

Facebook users have been asking for a share button on its mobile applications. The social network responded, as reported by sister site Inside Facebook, by rolling out a way users can share content on their phones. This only appears on the mobile site right now, not the apps, but a Facebook spokesperson told AllFacebook that the share function will be added to its iOS and Android apps soon.

Facebook has said in the past that a share button for its mobile app has never really been a priority, despite the fact that several people have inquired about this function. The share button, which appears only on the mobile site for now, signals that Facebook is letting users share content through their smartphones.

A Facebook spokesperson confirmed to AllFacebook that the company is working on a share solution for its iOS and Android apps:

We started rolling out a share button on the mobile site, and it will be coming to iOS and Android. We’ll be back in touch when we have more information.

Users who access Facebook via may notice a third option, next to like and comment:

The share button appears under content from both pages and personal profiles:

When a user taps on a post, the share button is still featured:

When a user opts to share something from the mobile site, they are able to post a link, as well as a message, just like the share feature on desktop. They can also toggle privacy settings:
