ShortStack Allows Users To Embed Custom Facebook Apps On External Sites

Custom Facebook application developer ShortStack released an external embed feature that allows users to embed their custom Facebook apps on outside websites, such as blogs or company Web pages.

Users must install the app on Facebook first, and then the same app, with complete functionality, can be installed on any URL, with users having the ability to adjust dimensions and to restrict the app from appearing on non-approved websites. Web surfers interact with the app as if it were on a Facebook page.

The external embed feature is available to ShortStack customers with paid plans costing $75 per month or more.

CEO Jim Belosic said:

People are social outside of Facebook, and we wanted businesses to be able to use our powerful tools anywhere they wanted. With external embedding, businesses can connect with their customers and fans other places on the Web, and people can participate in apps, contests, and data collection beyond Facebook.

Readers: Do you think the ability to embed Facebook apps on external websites can be a useful tool for brands?
