Sports Betting System Takes Shot At Facebook Games

Fee-based sports-betting system AccuScore introduced a unique approach to sports games on Facebook Friday with its introduction of SKL.

SKL combines players’ knowledge of the National Football League, college football, and English Premier League soccer with their ability to navigate contracts, compete against their friends, gain points, and rise through the ranks.

Players choose a league and their favorite team, and start off as amateurs, signing in-game contracts.

Correct answers allow them to earn SKL points, coins, and energy, and the further they progress, the more abilities they gain, including unlocking in-game power-ups and access to new leagues.

Competition takes place in the form of three types of mini-games:

  • Buzzer Beater: Players race against the clock to answer statistics-based questions about their favorite teams.
  • 4Cast: Players use their in-game currency to purchase cards that represent their predictions in a variety of statistical categories.
  • Challenge Mode: Five friends participate in a trivia free-for-all, competing against the clock and each other.

SKL marks the entry into Facebook social gaming for AccuScore, which uses its stat-based simulation engines to predict the outcomes of games, and its Chief Executive Officer Jason Manasse said:

One thing that unites all sports fans is their competitive nature and knowledge of their favorite teams. Utilizing AccuScore’s massive array of sports statistics, SKL offers them the chance to flaunt that knowledge as they compete against their friends in a variety of mini-games, table games, and quizzes.
