Facebook is taking steps to protect its users from a security breach at Adobe that may have compromised the encrypted account data of up to 150 million of its users, requiring users who were impacted by the Adobe issue to change their Facebook passwords and answer some additional security questions in order to access their accounts, according to Krebs on Security.
Facebook’s cost per click dropped 40 percent over the past 12 months, while the click-through rate for advertising on the social network soared by 275 percent, and return on investment was up 58 percent, according to a study of some 131 billion Facebook ad impressions, 400 million unique visitors, more than 1 billion posts, and 4.3 billion engagements over the past 12 months by Adobe.
A total of 57 percent of social media users in the U.S. have liked their favorite brands, but when asked what impact their friends’ likes had on them, the most common answer (35 percent) was none, according to new study by Adobe on the state of online advertising.

Facebook used its Facebook Mobile DevCon 2013 event in New York Thursday to announce that 81 of the 100 top-grossing iOS applications, 70 of the 100 top-grossing Android apps, 82 of the 100 top-grossing iOS games, and 75 of the 100 top-grossing Android games are integrated with the social network, and to introduce three new mobile products: easier integration of Open Graph on mobile, an improved login with Facebook, and a new software-development kit for iOS.
Although 65 percent of Web users access videos directly and 30 percent discover them via search, the users who are most likely to complete watching those videos come from Facebook (3 percent), Twitter (1 percent), and other social networks (1 percent), according to The U.S. Digital Video Benchmark, which was released by Adobe Wednesday.
