Facebook Adds A Below The Fold Ad Spot
In an attempt to drive more clicks, and presumably increase revenue, Facebook has added a new “below the fold” ad spot, increasing the number of ads that are displayed on the right-hand site of the site from 3 to 4 ad placements. While a subtle adjustment, this could have a dramatic impact, decreasing the cost of advertising in the short-term thanks to increasing the available inventory by 33 percent.

With New Site Design, Facebook Will Release New Ads Format
Back in April of last year Facebook began testing a new ad format, but not until the latest design screenshots did we begin to see the new format reappear. Also interestingly enough, Facebook is currently displaying automatically generated “Suggestions” above the advertisements. The reason I call it “interesting” is that we would expect this to detract from the ads which are generating revenue for Facebook.

Facebook To Add Multi-Country Support For Advertisements

On Wednesday a revised version of my Facebook demographics tracking script started acting funny and after a little bit of poking around I realized that Facebook has revised their ad location field to let users manually enter countries rather than select them from a drop-down as previously was the case.
