Web of Trust became the next new partner in Facebook’s Antivirus Marketplace to announce the availability of its free tool, following a similar move by Total Defense Monday.

One of the new partners in Facebook’s Antivirus Marketplace, Total Defense, detailed its offering in a note on the Facebook Security page.

Facebook introduced its Antivirus Marketplace in April, featuring free downloads and six-month licenses of security software from Microsoft, McAfee, Trend Micro, Sophos, and Symantec. Tuesday, nearly six months after launch, the social network announced seven new partners.

Facebook continued its fight against malware with Tuesday’s launch of a malware checkpoint that will allow users to cleanse their system by using Scan and Repair from McAfee or Security Essentials from Microsoft, both of which are also available via the Antivirus Marketplace the social network launched in April.

The Facebook security team opened the doors to the Antivirus Marketplace, featuring free downloads and six-month licenses from Microsoft, McAfee, Trend Micro, Sophos, and Symantec.
