More than 235 million people are playing games on Facebook.com each month, up from 205 million in August 2011, and up 8.4 percent since the beginning of 2012, according to statistics released by Facebook at Game Developers Conference Europe 2012 in Cologne, Germany, Tuesday.

Facebook continues to experiment with ways to help developers drive downloads of their applications, extending the “send to mobile” button it added to its app center in May to the hover card that appears when users move the cursors over app-related stories in their news feeds.
Facebook announced the beta-test of a new mobile ad unit aimed at helping developers drive installs of their applications, and developers that wish to participate can sign up here.
Apple officially confirmed that Facebook will be integrated into its iOS 6 and OSX Mountain Lion operating systems for mobile devices and Macintosh desktops, respectively, at its Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in San Francisco Monday.
The leak is now a launch, as Facebook began rolling out its app center to users in the U.S. Thursday night, saying that it will be available to all users “in the coming weeks.”
