Facebook Gifts Renovates Dashboard

Facebook Gifts, which was highly promoted by the site on Valentine’s Day, has apparently given its main page a bit of an aesthetic upgrade. Sister site Inside Facebook wrote Friday that the main interface of Gifts has changed, but only for those users who have already given presents through the site.

7 Features That Could Improve the Facebook Games Dashboard

In January, Facebook introduced the Facebook Games Dashboard, a centralized place for Facebook users to access their favorite Facebook games. I’ve been a regular user since its debut and have kept a list of a few recommended features that the Dashboard could implement to help players find their games faster. Here are seven improvements I think would dramatically improve the games dashboard experience.

Facebook Lets Users Opt-Out From Dashboard App Stories

Facebook has developed what they believe to be a sufficient solution to the dashboard privacy flaw that we’ve covered over the past few weeks: an application activity privacy setting. With the new layout, Facebook users can visit their applications privacy settings and change a new setting that lets you “Control who can see your activity in the Friends’ Recent Activity, Friends’ Applications and Friends’ Games sections” of the application and games dashboards (pictured below).

Facebook Looks To Resolve Dashboard Privacy Flaw. Will It Be Enough?

One week ago we wrote about a new dashboard privacy flaw that exposes users’ application activities. While it isn’t a major issue yet as the new design hasn’t been rolled out to all users, Facebook is in the process of rolling out their new homepage design to a large (unknown) number of users. So what is the privacy flaw and what is Facebook doing to resolve it? Read on to learn more.

Facebook Previews The Apps And Games Dashboard To Users

Facebook has begun making the application and games dashboards available in beta to Facebook developers for testing purposes. While it may be available to more than just developers, the links to the preview pages were not visible to those users who don’t have the Facebook developers application installed based on users we’ve spoken to. While Facebook posted last week that they would be rolling out dashboards in the “coming weeks”, we didn’t expect them to make the service widely available so quickly.

This evening Facebook provided the latest details about the soon to be released applications and games Dashboards. Application news items, which are supposed to be a partial replacement for application notifications, are limited to two per application and are displayed within and “appear as a text field next to each application in the dashboard.” We’ll highlight some of the most important new features and changes in this article.
