As more users check their Facebook activity on their phones or tablets, the company’s design team has had to follow suit. When Facebook announced the redesigned News Feed, Co-Founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg said the design was largely motivated by mobile. The Facebook Design team took users behind the curtain to share exactly what that means, and how the company is becoming more mobile-minded.
Is Facebook on another acquisition binge? Just days after announcing that the team from storytelling social network Storylane would join the social network, the company announced its acquisition of San Francisco- and New York-based design agency Hot Studio in a note on the Facebook Design page.
Facebook is a wonderfully picturesque site, and the company wants those who are visually impaired to be able to experience that, as well. The social network posted recently about the work it has done to improve the accessibility of its mobile applications, including verbal descriptions of photos.
