Facebook Weekly Highlights features photos posted to the social network by celebrities and athletes. This week’s edition featured the photo to the left, of retired soccer superstar David Beckham promoting his new photo book; as well as the photo below of Jim Carrey promoting his new children’s book.
If Facebook ever officially rolls out its “VIP application” for celebrities that was reported on earlier this week, perhaps those celebrities can use the app to try to crack the Facebook Weekly Highlights list the social network debuted Thursday in the Trends section of its Newsroom.

A new app powered by Buddy Media is for the Sports Illustrated Golf Group. It’s called SI GOLFNation. The application is a way for golfers to track their own progress and connect with each other. SI GOLFNation is also designed as a way for the Sports Illustrated Gold Group, which includes Golf Magazine, GOLF.com and SI Golf Plus, to connect with golfers as well.
