Facebook is making its plugins work even faster. Recently, the social network rebuilt the recommendations plugin, and now it’s the activity plugin that will get the speed boost. This will make it easier for users to indicate through Facebook that they’ve read something, watched something, or any other kind of action verb.
Cloud application platform Parse, which was acquired by Facebook in April, announced the launch of Parse Hosting Tuesday, joining its four existing offerings — Parse Data, Parse Social, Parse Push, and Cloud.
Developers like speed, and Facebook obliged by revamping its like box, saying in a note on the Facebook Engineering page that the plugin is now two to four times faster after being rebuilt from the ground up.
Timeline pages don’t eliminate tabs. They’ve simply relocated, have more space and are now called apps.
