It’s Election Day 2012 and with democracy in full swing, Facebook wants users to know how they can participate. Facebook users will have a hard time missing the reminder.

With Election Day just weeks away, Facebook continued its efforts to push voter registration, following up on its creation of the I’m Voting application with CNN with the addition of a new life event in which users can indicate on their timelines that they have registered to vote.

Facebook and CNN Wednesday officially launched the I’m Voting application, which they initially announced in early July.

With the 2012 presidential election approaching Nov. 6, Facebook outlined its plans for the 2012 Republican National Convention in Tampa, Fla., Aug. 27-30, and the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, N.C., Sept. 4-6.

CNN and Facebook are gearing up for the 2012 presidential election Nov. 6 with the upcoming launch of Facebook application I’m Voting, as well as combining efforts to measure metrics about the presidential and vice presidential candidates, and conducting surveys.
