The 66th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony will be held at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles Monday, and while not everybody will leave holding a golden statue, some celebrities will be holding a new device from Facebook on the red carpet.
People all over Facebook are soaking themselves with ice water to bring awareness to ALS — including Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg. But how widespread has this been? Facebook released statistics Friday, showing that 15 million people across the social network have posted about, commented or liked a post related to the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. People have also posted more than 1.2 million videos.

The Boston Red Sox wrapped up the 2013 World Series title Wednesday night with a 6-1 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals, and the teams’ performances on Facebook mirrored the on-field action, as the Red Sox were responsible for 62 percent of World Series chatter on the social network, compared with 38 percent for the Cardinals, and Red Sox Designated Hitter and First Baseman David Ortiz, who was voted Most Valuable Player of the World Series, received four times more buzz than any other player.
