It’s year in review time at Facebook, and Pope Francis donned the crown as the most-talked-about person or event globally, while Super Bowl XLVII took home the U.S. trophy, according to data released by the social network Monday.
Facebook Weekly Highlights features photos posted to the social network by celebrities and athletes. This week’s edition featured the photo to the right, of North West, daughter of Kim Kardashian and hip-hop superstar Kanye West, posted by Khloe Kardashian, Kim’s sister; as well as the photo below of actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt being photo-bombed by singer and actress Selena Gomez at the MTV Video Music Awards.
Facebook users most likely can’t go one day without seeing a someecard pop up in their News Feeds. People love them. Brands love them. They’re funny, snarky, honest — and ubiquitous throughout Facebook. Someecards Co-Founder and CEO Duncan Mitchell told AllFacebook that the site sees somewhere between 1.5 million and 2 million visits per month from the social network. But how did it all get started?
As more people have the ability to post photos on the go, it’s only inevitable that more photos from Friday night’s party end up on Facebook. A survey by U.K. fashion retailer Very revealed that for women aged 18-35 who go out regularly (87 times per year), the amount of photos posted of them in a year can range from 4,212 to 23,400.
As of this writing, Facebook’s vastly improved systems for blocking malware links have yet to pick up on this newest piece of spamware. Don’t click on it.
