Facebook released an update to its Paper iPhone application, and the most prominent new feature is the ability to share posts via Facebook messages, text messages, or email, rather than solely with friends.
The Facebook Antivirus Marketplace is now available in seven new languages: French, Italian, German, Spanish, Korean, Japanese, and Portuguese.
Social media management system HootSuite did some hooting about its accomplishments in the first quarter of 2013, reporting a 272 percent increase in corporate sales (companies valued at less than $10 billion) compared with the year-earlier period, along with a 900 percent jump in international strategic sales (companies valued at more than $10 billion).
UPDATED 4:05 p.m. ET: Mobile messaging application WhatsApp denied a report in TechCrunch saying that it was in talks with Facebook about being acquired by the social network, telling AllThingsD, “The TechCrunch article is a rumor and not factually accurate. We have no further information to share at the moment.”
