Facebook To Fund Menlo Park Police Officer At New Substation In Belle Haven

The Facebook police? Not quite, but the social network reached an agreement with the Menlo Park (Calif.) City Council to pay $200,000 per year for at least three years to station a full-time Menlo Park police officer at the city’s upcoming substation in Belle Haven, which is located just a few-hundred yards from the site of the company’s West Campus expansion, currently under construction.

Facebook, Menlo Park To Discuss West Campus

Before Facebook can start breaking ground on its Frank Gehry-designed West Campus extension, the company needs to discuss the direction of the building with the Menlo Park, Calif. City Council. The Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal reports that the city council will discuss Facebook’s newest planned addition during their Wednesday meeting. The building could bring significant revenue to the city, which is facing a deficit this fiscal year.
