Part of Facebook’s proposal to expand its headquarters in Menlo Park, Calif., involved an agreement by the company to either build 15 low-cost homes or contribute $4.5 million toward affordable housing. But the social network is having trouble finding land in order to comply with that part of the deal.

The Menlo Park Planning Commission unanimously approved Facebook’s proposed West Campus expansion, located across the Bayfront Expressway from the social network’s current headquarters, and now the next step is a return trip to the Menlo Park City Council in March.
The next step for Facebook’s proposed West Campus across the Bayfront Expressway from the social network’s current headquarters in Menlo Park, Calif., will take place at 7 p.m. PT Monday, when the Menlo Park Planning Commission meets to discuss the Frank Gehry-designed expansion.
