Social marketing platform Shift, a Facebook Preferred Marketing Developer, examined campaigns on the social network during the second quarter that were managed via its Facebook ad solution, and it shared its findings in the infographic below.

Facebook’s Preferred Marketing Developer program has a new global director, as Vice President of Global Partnerships Blake Chandlee announced in a post to the PMD News group that Steve Irvine, currently director of business strategy and activation for global vertical strategy for Facebook Canada, will assume the role and report to Chandlee.
Facebook continued to dominate social logins in the second quarter of 2014, accounting for 55 percent of overall social logins and 64 percent of social logins from mobile devices, according to the latest figures from Preferred Marketing Developer and consumer-management provider Gigya.
Developers with games that use virtual goods can now sell those virtual goods directly via ads in Facebook’s News Feed or right-hand-side ads following an update to the social network’s desktop application ads.
Facebook introduced App Links, an open, cross-platform solution for application-to-app linking, at its F8 global developer conference in San Francisco April 30, and the social network announced in a developer blog post Tuesday that more than 1 billion unique App Links have been enabled by mobile developers, adding that App Links can now be used in mobile app ads through Preferred Marketing Developers.
The competition between Facebook and Snapchat has extended past the mobile messaging sector and into the executive ranks, as Mike Randall, global director of Facebook’s Preferred Marketing Developer program, left the social network to become vice president of business and marketing partnerships for the mobile messaging application.
