Facebook Co-Founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg and his wife, Priscilla Chan, were at the top of The Chronicle of Philanthropy’s list of the top 50 donors of 2013, with their gift to the Silicon Valley Community Foundation representing nearly $1 billion of the total of $7.7 billion contributed by the top 50.

The charitable donations keep coming from Facebook Co-Founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg and his wife, Priscilla Chan, as AP reported that the couple will donate $5 million toward the $29 million cost of expanding a Silicon Valley community health center.

Facebook Co-Founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg detailed his conversion of 60 million shares of class-B common stock to class-A in a Form 4 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, as well as a donation of 18 million class-A shares, while Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg sold more than 280,000 shares in two transactions.

As part of the expansion agreement Facebook reached with its headquarters city of Menlo Park, Calif., the social network agreed to create a $500,000 foundation. Facebook added $100,000 to that total Tuesday and announced grants of $2,500 to $5,000 to 42 nonprofit organizations in Menlo Park and East Palo Alto, Calif.
