The game — which quizzes users on their ability to recognize a song as quickly as possible — has earned praise from Facebook Co-Founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg and was recently featured on the Facebook developer blog.
Facebook has been under scrutiny since its initial public offering regarding its ability to make money off mobile. Later this month, the company plans to offer developers and advertisers the opportunity to place targeted ads — based on what applications people use — in mobile news feeds, The Wall Street Journal reports.
Facebook published a post urging developers to create applications for both the social network’s platform and mobile on its developer blog, saying that in May, Facebook drove users to iOS apps 134 million times and to the Apple App Store 83 million times.
Song Pop, the Facebook-based game where users can put their music knowledge to the test, gained a very important fan. Facebook Founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg posted Thursday that he loves playing the game — a post that was shared by nearly 2,000 people in three hours.
