A total of 342,632 responses to a poll on Facebook would normally be considered an impressive tally, but when that 342,632 represents 0.038 percent of the social network’s 900 million-plus users, or 1 out of every 2,600, it’s not very impressive. And when the poll was about Facebook’s proposed revisions to its statement of rights and responsibilities and data use policy, and a response rate of 30 percent was needed to make the results binding, it’s a huge disappointment.
