Did Instagram’s Terms Of Use Flop Hurt Facebook?

After mass confusion over Instagram’s updated terms of use, several users took to Facebook and Twitter to express their outrage over the company supposedly selling photographs. But how many people actually stopped using the application? A report in the New York Post dubiously claimed that Instagram has lost one-quarter of its users, but the math used in the story is a little fuzzy.

Instagram Nixes Sponsored Story-Like Ad Product … For Now

Instagram, the Facebook-owned photo-sharing social network, caused a stir throughout the Internet this week when the company altered its terms of use to foretell of an advertising service similar to Facebook’s sponsored stories. Many people mistakenly believed that Instagram would sell photos without any notice or benefit to users. After all of the confusion, Instagram decided to revert the advertising portion of its terms of use to original 2010 status.
