The 2014 Winter Olympic Games have begun in Sochi, Russia, and while Facebook may not appear on any of the medal podiums, it is eyeing the gold medal for fans’ social networking experience.
Facebook and Instagram demonstrated their Olympic spirit by reaching a deal with NBC Sports Group’s NBC Olympics to bring social elements to content from the 2014 Winter Olympic Games, which will be held in Sochi, Russia, Feb. 7 through 23.
Social entertainment provider Milyoni and Universal Music Enterprises teamed up on “Legends in the Cloud,” which will bring documentaries, films, and concerts to Facebook users on a pay-per-view basis, kicking off with George Harrison: Living in the Material World Dec. 8.

Scene It?, a DVD board game that tests your movie and general entertainment knowledge, now has it’s own Facebook edition, complete with thoroughly addictive game mechanics and additional upcoming social features that could rival some of the more popular “ville” types of games. The Facebook edition follows versions for three other platforms, which include Xbox, iPhone and of course the original DVD board game.
