Microsoft will team up with Facebook to host a hackathon at the social network’s headquarters in Menlo Park, Calif., Jan. 17 and 18, aimed at integrating login with Facebook and other social tools into applications for Windows and Windows Phone.
Login with Facebook has arrived for applications using Microsoft’s Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 operating systems, as Facebook announced in a post on its developer blog that Facebook Login for Windows 8 is ready to use in production apps, while Windows Phone 8 support is being launched in beta.
I work with NARR8, a free-to-use application and digital publisher of interactive eBooks. Last month, NARR8 launched its extensive catalog of motion comics, graphic novels, and educational periodicals on Facebook’s App Center — a huge milestone for us, since this made NARR8 the first motion comics application to launch on the world’s No. 1 social network.
