Instagram Designer Tim Van Damme Packs Up For Dropbox

News broke Monday that Instagram Designer Tim Van Damme was leaving the company, and now we know his next destination: Dropbox.

Rasmus Andersson, Facebook’s former lead mobile designer, left the social network in March to join Dropbox.

TechCrunch reported that Van Damme’s last day at Instagram will be Friday, and he will join Dropbox in early August.

Van Damme wrote in a post on his blog:

The past 18 months were some of the best of my life, both personally and professionally. I’ve had the opportunity to work with some of the brightest minds in this business, on an application that transformed the way people interact with each other every single day, and also made a lot of new friends.

But it’s time to move on, time to solve a different set of problems.

I’ll be taking some time off with my family, and join the amazing Dropbox team early August.

Dropbox is a fascinating company. It provides value to a wide range of people, not just those who build things.

I can’t wait to learn from all the talented people I will soon call colleagues.
