Does Facebook Need An Unfollow Button?

Unfollow650Facebook is bringing the functionality of its hide all button — which allows users to hide all posts from friends or pages without unfriending or unliking them, respectively — to a new unfollow button, which allows users to stop following other users’ public updates, TechCrunch reported.

A Facebook spokesperson confirmed the change to TechCrunch, saying:

The goal of this change is to help people curate their News Feed and see more of the content that they care about.

TechCrunch believes Facebook is trying to bring its language more in line with that of Instagram and Twitter, on which follow is a staple.
