An updated Facebook application for Research In Motion’s PlayBook tablet now comes with the version v1.0.5 update for the device.
RIM claims it has the first tablet-optimized Facebook application.
While a number of third-party iOS and Android developers may challenge that statement, it is true that it is the first Facebook tablet app developed by either a hardware vendor or Facebook itself.
The big new Facebook for Playbook feature is the ability to upload video files.
Other enhancements, as described on RIM’s own blog, are:
- Better search capabilities
- Improved access to pages
- Message deletion
- Upload photos to specific albums
- Enhanced news feeds
