WARNING: Viral Facebook Post About Voting Machines Is A Hoax

Why should Election Day be exempt from Facebook shenanigans? Sophos’ Naked Security blog reported that a message with incorrect information about how to properly vote in voting booths went viral on the social network Tuesday.

Naked Security posted two examples of the messages going around Facebook (both unedited):

REMINDER: PLEASE PAY CAREFUL ATTENTION TO THIS! In the event that you are planning to vote democrat on Nov. 6, when you go into the voting booths, DO NOT SELECT THE BUTTON “all democrats” first, because Barack Obama will be excluded from the vote. However, if we choose “Barack Obama” first, and then “all democrats,” he will earn our votes!!! TELL EVERYBODY YOU KNOW THIS! PLEASE REPOST THIS, WE CAN’T LET THEM GET AWAY WITH THIS!!!!!!
