Users playing “Call of Duty: Black Ops” on Facebook have been reportedly getting spam messages of a nonexistent video of a guy killing his roommate.
The link that takes you there is, of course, fake, and the video doesn’t exist. 
According to Tech Buzz, the message spreading to players today reads: “TODAY ONE GUY KILLED HER (sic) ROOM MATE WHILE PLAYING A BLACK OPS GAME IN NETWORK. | LIVE DEATH VIDEO CAUGHT ON CAMERA ? http://www.bit.ly/[censored]”
So the guy killed his roommate in real life? In the game? While playing Black Ops, or after? Clicking on that link takes you to another page that “clarifies” what happened: “OMG! This Guy Killed his Room mate aftre Playing Black Ops games in New York ! Watch Live Death Video Caught on Cam | CLICK ON BELOW PIC TO CONTINUE….”
And then, voila, comes the scam: the fake Facebook app “Shock News” asks por permission to access your info, and makes you take an authentification test that sneakily tries to make you sign up for a paid SMS monthly service.
“Call of Duty: Black Ops” is the seventh installment in the Call of Duty game series. It was released last month.
