Small Businesses Eyeing Facebook Commerce Can Press Wishpond Social Buttons

Canadian developer Wishpond wants to help small businesses push all the right buttons when it comes to Facebook commerce, and Tuesday’s launch of Wishpond Social Buttons is aimed at helping them to do just that.

Wishpond said the platform helps small businesses take advantage of Facebook’s open graph with what it called “supercharged like buttons,” keeping the process simple and eliminating the need for developers or enterprise solutions.

Page administrators can choose from buttons including “love,” “wish,” “need,” “hype,” and “LOL,” allowing shoppers to engage on ecommerce websites and share stories and recommendations via Facebook.

Wishpond Social Buttons is available for $19 per month, with a free 30-day trial.

Wishpond Founder and CEO Ali Tajsekander said:

90 percent of online sales occur on retailers’ websites. In parallel, 67 percent of shoppers spend more when they have received a recommendation from their online community of friends. Wishpond marries the power of both with Social Buttons directly on retailers’ websites.

Chief Revenue Officer Ian Cruickshank added:

We’ve been talking with many of our current customers, and they’re as excited as we are about Social Buttons. They want the tools to expand into social commerce — they simply could not afford them until now.
